By default Task Party sets no cookies. The one exception is ad measurement: if you allow it, Meta's pixel sets two cookies so we can see which of our ads bring people here. In the UK and the EEA we ask first; elsewhere it is on by default and you can switch it off on this page. No analytics, no fingerprinting, nothing else. The rest of what lives in your browser is a handful of small first-party keys that make the app work: your login, a sign-in brake, preferences you chose yourself, and your cookie choice. This page lists every one of them.

1. Cookies: none by default, two if you allow ad measurement

The Task Party application at taskparty.co sets no cookies of its own. We use no analytics tools and no fingerprinting. The one third-party script that can run on our pages is Meta's pixel, and only under the rule below.

When these are set. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, never before you tap "Allow" in the cookie choice at the bottom of the page; "No thanks" keeps the pixel off and we do not ask again. Everywhere else the pixel is on by default and you can switch it off here at any time. The recipient of the data is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, which processes it under Meta's cookie policy. The Meta pixel is also named as a processor in our Privacy Policy.

Tapping the button forgets your choice and shows the cookie choice again, wherever you are. If you are outside the UK and EEA and want the pixel off, tap it and choose "No thanks".

2. What else we store: eight first-party keys

The app keeps a small set of entries in your browser's local storage ("localStorage"). All of them are first-party (readable only by taskparty.co), none of them is used for tracking, and none of them leaves your device except the login session token, which authenticates you to our own servers:

3. What we ask consent for, and what we do not

Under section 25(2) of the German TDDDG (implementing the EU ePrivacy rules) and the corresponding UK rules, storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for does not require consent - and asking for consent you cannot meaningfully refuse would be misleading. Every first-party key above is either strictly necessary (login, sign-in brake, completing a referral you clicked, remembering your cookie choice) or a preference you chose yourself (timezone, camera and microphone setup, saving your own draft). The personal data involved is processed on the legal bases described in the Privacy Policy (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Meta's pixel is not necessary to run the service, so in the UK and the EEA it loads only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, section 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw here at any time. Outside those regions we rely on our legitimate interest in measuring our own advertising (Article 6(1)(f)), and the same button switches it off.

4. If you clear these keys

You can delete localStorage at any time through your browser's settings (usually under "clear browsing data" or per-site data controls). Nothing breaks permanently: you will be signed out, times may briefly show in your device's timezone, your lobby camera and microphone choices reset to defaults, and an unsubmitted host application draft is lost, and the cookie choice is asked again where it applies. Signing back in restores everything kept in your account. Meta's two cookies can be removed through the same browser controls, or by choosing "No thanks" above and then clearing site data.

5. Third-party pages you may visit from Task Party

Some actions take you to other companies' websites, which set their own cookies there under their own policies. In particular, payments happen on Stripe's hosted checkout and billing pages at stripe.com; Stripe sets cookies on its own domain (including for fraud prevention), governed by Stripe's cookie policy, not ours. Similarly, signing in with Google happens on Google's pages under Google's policies. No Stripe or Google script runs on taskparty.co itself; the only third-party script that can run here is Meta's pixel, under the rule in section 1.

6. Changes and contact

If the storage the app uses ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top; anything new that requires consent will be asked for first. Questions: hello@taskparty.co.
