Your first Task Party, start to finish

A calm walkthrough of everything from booking your first session to the recap.

1. Book your first session

Open the Schedule. It shows sessions grouped by day in your own timezone, with anything live right now at the top. Pick one that suits you - a verbal session if you like a warm hello, or a chat-only one if you would rather not talk - and tap Save my spot. That is your seat held. You can cancel any time.

Do not overthink which session. There is always another one about to start, so just grab the next one that fits.

2. Pick one task to bring

The magic of co-working is having one clear thing to move forward. Before you join, think of a single task - "draft the email", "review the deck", "clear my inbox". You will bring it in as your goal, and the room will quietly cheer you on when you tick it off.

3. Arrive in the lobby

You can head to the lobby up to an hour before the start. It is your green room: a live preview of your own camera so you can check your lighting, choose your camera and mic, and blur or change your background before anyone sees you.

Your camera and mic are your choice. Many people keep the camera on - the gentle sense of company is what makes this work - but the tiles are small and everyone is focused on their own thing.

4. The welcome

When the room opens, the host says hello and everyone shares the one thing they are working on. A quick "hi, I'm getting my report done" is all it takes. Then the room settles.

5. Focus time

When focus begins, everyone's mic mutes automatically and the room goes quiet. This is the good bit: you work, and so does everyone else, and that shared momentum carries you. Chimes mark the time so you never watch the clock. Tick your task off when it is done and watch the little cheer float up.

Need to step away or unmute? Both are fine, any time.

6. Wrap and recap

At the end, there is a moment to celebrate what you got done. Then you land on your recap: how many tasks you finished, a private rating of how focused you felt, a Keep button on any unfinished session task (so it joins My tasks), and a chance to thank the host. Your rating is private to you.

That is it - you have done your first Task Party. The next one is even easier.

7. Good to know: you’re safe here

A few things worth knowing, so you can relax into it:

  • Task Party never records your sessions - there is no recording feature at all.
  • You can block anyone silently, and you will never share a room with them again.
  • You can report anyone from their tile in the room, the flag on a chat message, or afterwards from the session recap - and a person reads every report.
  • Task Party is adults-only (18+), one real account each - it's a condition of every account, and we act on reports.
