Press Pop out on the bar at the bottom of the room. A small floating window opens that stays in front of every other app, so one face stays on your screen while you write, code or read elsewhere. Press the same button (or close the little window) to come back.
The first time you join a room on a device that can do this, a small tip above the button points it out. Got it (or using Pop out) puts it away, and it does not come back on that device.
It shows one person at a time, large enough to feel like company: during focus it moves to the next camera every half minute or so; during the welcome, check-ins, breaks and wrap-up it follows whoever is speaking. People with their camera off are skipped. If nobody else has a camera on, it shows you - and if yours is off too, a quiet card with the session name and the timer.
The frame also carries the phase timer and whether your mic is on, so you can never forget an open microphone while you are in another app. Everything else - chat, tasks, reactions - stays in the room window; clicking the floating window brings it forward.
It opens from the button - browsers only allow a floating window after a click. It works in Chrome, Edge, Safari (including iPhone) and Firefox.
