The recap has a "Send thanks to [host]" box: pick an emoji and add a kind word. It shows on the host's public profile, signed with your display name - the recap says so before you type. Hosts can switch the public Feedback section off in Settings, in which case only they see it. It is a small thing that means a lot to the people who keep rooms warm.
