Partner terms
The short version
You share a link or a code. People who use it get 20% off Task Party for their first year. You get 30% of everything they pay for their first twelve months, which is about $2.40 a month per member, or around $29 if they stay the year.
You also get free Task Party membership yourself.
Task Party is free for everyone until 1 January 2027. Nobody pays before then, so nobody earns before then. Everything you share now starts earning in January.
Everything below is the detail. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will answer, and if the answer turns out to be ambiguous we will settle it in your favour.
Joining
The programme is by invitation. There is no application form. If you have been given a partner code, you are in it.
You must be 18 or over and hold one Task Party account. One person, one partner account.
Accepting the code, or sharing it, means you accept these terms.
You are an independent partner, not an employee, agent or representative of Task Party. You cannot enter into anything on our behalf or speak for us.
Your own Task Party membership is free, for as long as you are a partner. You never pay for Task Party while you are in the programme.
There is no requirement to post, and no minimum. Share Task Party when it feels right to you. We would appreciate a heads up before you do, so we can make sure there are hosts running rooms at the hours your audience keeps, and your people do not arrive to an empty room.
The deal you join on is the deal you keep. Your commission rate and the offer your audience receives are set when you join, they are shown in your Task Party settings, and they do not change while you are a partner. We may offer different terms to partners who join later. That never changes yours.
Your link and your code
You get one string, for example ROSIE. It is both your link, taskparty.co/?ref=ROSIE, and a code people can type when they sign up.
The link fills the code in automatically. The code can also be typed by hand, which is how it works on a podcast, in a video, or by word of mouth. Capitals do not matter: ROSIE and rosie are the same code.
The code must be present when the person creates their account. We do not track people around the internet and we store nothing on their device. If somebody clicks your link, leaves, and comes back days later without the code, we have no record of them and they cannot be counted. This is a deliberate privacy choice and it does cost us both something. Encourage people to sign up while they are with you.
You can ask us for extra codes, for instance one for your podcast and another for your newsletter, so you can see which is working. They all pay you the same way and your totals combine.
A code never stops working. If you change or add one, the old ones keep resolving to you for good, because a code that has been spoken in a video or printed in a newsletter cannot be edited afterwards.
If someone arrives with your link but types a different partner's code, the typed code wins, because it is the later and more deliberate act. The reverse is also true.
A referral cannot be added or changed after the account is created.
What your audience gets
20% off the monthly membership for their first twelve months. From January that is 7.99 a month instead of 9.99, in US dollars, pounds or euros as applicable, and inclusive of VAT in the UK and EU.
After twelve months the discount ends and they pay full price.
The discount applies to new members only. It cannot be applied to an existing account.
Only one discount applies to any member at a time, and it is always whichever is best for them. In practice that matters if one of your people goes on to host sessions: hosts pay 4.99 a month rather than 9.99, which beats your 20%, so they pay 4.99. See 4.4.
What you earn
30% of every payment that member makes for their first twelve months, starting with their very first payment. At the normal discounted price of 7.99 that is about $2.40 a month.
So a referral who stays a full year is worth about $29 to you, one who pays for three months about $7, and one who pays once about $2.40.
Twelve months means twelve actual payments, not twelve months on the calendar, so a paused or lapsed membership picks up where it left off rather than losing the rest.
The 30% is always 30% of what that member actually pays, not of the list price. So if they go on to host sessions and pay 4.99 instead of 7.99, you earn about $1.50 a month rather than $2.40.
Amounts are paid in US dollars, whatever currency the member pays in.
There is no cap on how many people you refer.
Nothing is earned before 1 January 2027, because nothing is charged before then. People who join through you during the free period earn you money from their first payment in the new year, so sharing early is worth more, not less.
When and how we pay
PayPal. Tell us the email address on your PayPal account.
Monthly. We run payments in the first week of each month for everything that has become payable.
Every amount is held for 30 days after the payment it came from. Task Party's refund window is the reason: if a member asks for their money back, we would be paying you commission on a payment that no longer exists. So each month's commission becomes payable about a month later.
Minimum $25. If your balance is under that we hold it and add it to the next month, and so on until it clears the minimum. Nothing expires while you remain in the programme.
Any fee PayPal charges on the transfer comes out of the payment.
Before your first payout we need a W-9 if you are a US taxpayer or a W-8BEN if you are not. We cannot pay without it. Anything you earn here is your income and your tax to declare, and we do not withhold anything. If you are VAT registered anywhere, tell us and we will sort out the invoicing with you, including self-billing where that is the right way to do it.
What does not count
Yourself. You cannot use your own code, on any account, under any name or email.
People in your household or immediate family.
Anyone who already has, or has ever had, a Task Party account.
Any account we judge to be fake, duplicated, automated, or created only to trigger a payment.
Anyone who takes a refund, reverses a charge, or disputes one with their bank. Amounts already paid to you for that person are deducted from your next payout.
Anyone who reached us through paid advertising we were already running to them, where your code was added at the last moment.
Anyone you paid, or promised anything of value, in return for signing up. You are welcome to give your audience something of your own, but not cash, gift cards, or anything that works like cash, because that manufactures members who never wanted the product.
How you may promote Task Party
Always say it is an ad. Every post, video, email or episode that carries your link or code must be clearly labelled. In the UK and EU, "Ad" or "#ad" at the start. In the US and Canada, either that or a plain sentence such as "I get a commission if you sign up through my link". It has to be visible without clicking, expanding or hovering, and in a video it has to be said as well as shown. "aff", "sp", "spon", "affiliate link" or a hashtag buried in a list is not enough and puts us both at risk.
Never claim Task Party treats, helps, manages, cures or reduces the symptoms of ADHD, or any other condition. That is a medical claim, and advertising regulators hold the advertiser and the person who said it jointly responsible.
You can say: it is body doubling, it is co‑working, people book an hour and work alongside others, many of our members have ADHD, and whatever is honestly true of your own experience, clearly as your own experience.
Follow the rules of any community you post in. Some forums and groups do not allow referral codes or promotion of any kind. Where that is so, respect it, because a removal or a ban lands on the Task Party name as well as yours.
Not allowed: coupon, deal and cashback sites; bidding on "Task Party" or misspellings of it in paid search; buying ads that impersonate us; unsolicited email or DMs; automated posting; any site with adult, hateful or illegal content; and pretending to be Task Party or a member of our team.
Do not offer anything we have not offered. Do not invent a discount, promise a refund, or state a price other than the real one.
Never buy or solicit reviews, and never offer anything in exchange for a positive one. That is separately illegal in the US.
Our name and logo may be used to promote Task Party honestly, in their proper form, and for nothing else. We can ask you to stop at any time.
If you are a licensed therapist, counsellor or clinician, we will not pay you cash for referring clients, because professional ethics rules and some laws prohibit paid patient referrals. We will give you a discount code for your clients instead. Coaches who are not licensed clinicians can take payment, and must disclose it to their clients.
What you can see
Your Task Party settings show your codes and links, how many people signed up with them, how many attended a session, how many are paying, and what you have earned.
You will never see who they are. Dates and status only, no names, no email addresses. Those people are our members before they are your referrals, and their identity is not ours to hand over.
If a number looks wrong, tell us. We will show you our working, and where it is genuinely unclear we will settle it in your favour.
Ending it
You can leave at any time. Anything already earned and above the minimum is paid in the next run.
We can deactivate a code that is being misused. Your other codes and your history are unaffected.
If the programme closes, we will give 30 days' notice, and everything earned in that time is paid.
Changes
We can change these terms. If a change affects what you earn, we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand.
Neither your rate nor your audience's offer changes when we change the programme for new partners. See 1.7.
Referrals already made are paid under the terms in force when they were made.
The version and date at the top always show which set is current.
Data protection
We hold your name, contact details, payout details and your referral records to run the programme, and your tax form because we are required to.
We share what we must with PayPal to pay you.
The people you refer are our members. We do not pass you their personal data, and you must not try to identify them.
Our Privacy Policy at taskparty.co covers the rest.
The legal bits
These terms and the Task Party Terms of Service together are the whole agreement.
Governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep whatever protections the law of your own country gives you, and nothing here takes those away.
Nothing here creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship despite the word "partner", which is meant plainly.
Our liability to you is limited to the commission you are owed.
If anything here is unclear
Write to whoever invited you and ask. We will answer, and where the answer turns out to be genuinely ambiguous we will settle it in your favour rather than ours.
