Task Party

How we keep you safe

Last updated 13 August 2026 · what we do, plainly. The legally binding texts are the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

Task Party never records your sessions.

Not the video, not the audio. There is no recording feature in the app, anywhere.

How we can promise that

Your camera and microphone are streamed between the people in the room in real time and then they are gone - nothing is ever written to a disk. Our video system simply has no recording turned on: recording would be a separate piece of server machinery, and we do not run it. There is no storage anywhere for session video or audio. So "we don't record" isn't a fine-print policy - we run no recording machinery at all, and never have.

Members aren't allowed to record each other either (see rule 3 of our Community Guidelines). If someone screenshots or records you without consent, report them and we'll act.

What we do store

We keep the little that's needed to run your account, and no more:

  • Your account: your email and login (or Google sign-in).
  • Your profile: the name, photo, pronouns and badges you chose - nothing imported without your say-so.
  • Your activity: the sessions you book and attend, tasks you write, notes and ratings you save, and thanks you leave for hosts.
  • Room chat: kept only for the room's own people, and deleted 30 days after the session ends.
  • Reports you file: so our team can review them - a report includes a short snapshot of the room chat, kept while we handle it.

What other people can see

  • Inside a session: your chosen display name and photo, and any task titles you choose to share.
  • Your tasks, notes, ratings and email are private to you.
  • Only hosts have a public profile page - that comes with choosing to host. Regular members have no public page at all.

Blocking and reporting

  • Block someone (as part of filing a report) and you're never put in a room together again - their sessions stop showing for you, and yours for them. It's silent: they're never told, and it looks no different from never having crossed paths. It also means fewer sessions on both schedules, and you can unblock any time in Settings.
  • Report a person from their tile in a session, the flag on a chat message, a host's profile, or the "Something went wrong in this session?" link on your recap. Every report is read by a person - urgent safety reports within 24 hours, everything else within 2 business days.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings. It removes your profile, tasks, bookings, notes and login, and your name is scrubbed from any messages you left behind. This is your right under UK and EU data protection law, and it's a couple of clicks.

Who helps us run it

A few trusted services power Task Party. Only one of them ever touches your session video or audio, and only in transit:

  • LiveKit - the live video connection. Your camera and mic pass through LiveKit's servers as they're relayed between the people in the room, live and in the moment - nothing is stored or recorded.
  • Supabase - our database and login, with per-account access rules so each account can only reach its own private data. It never receives session video or audio.
  • Stripe - payments (we never see or store your card details).
  • Resend - the emails we send you.

We don't sell or rent your data, run ad trackers, or read your tasks to "personalise" anything. If we ever had a data breach that affected you, we'd tell you as the law requires - and sooner where we can.
